A PAB in home care supports clients in all ADLs and basic housekeeping to ensure they are safe and happy. A PAB in home care becomes a part of the family and not just a worker.
- Provide light housekeeping services including, but not limited to cleaning, cooking, laundry and general household management
- Provide companionship- mental stimulus, conversation
- Accompany clients to activities and events in the community or medical appointments (as needed)
- Administration of medication through safe policies and procedures
- Provide support to the clients in personal care and hygiene (i.e. but not limited to; bathing and grooming, dressing, toileting, and exercise if needed)
- Follow all recording and reporting data procedures
- Able to do mobility transferring for patients
- Current Certificate of Competence OIIQ or OIIQA
- CPR updated within the last 2 years

- Taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiration)
- Preparation and administration of drugs and injections
- Wound care
- Dementia assessments
- Supporting families in education
- Chronic disease education/teaching
- End of life (palliative) support/care
Possibility of training in research, with shift work in a private clinical research.
